Okay so the mother, mother Rachel Price, reappears in the book after being missing for 16 years and I love how it was hinted at in the first few chapters. The suspense in many ways was so perfect. Every chapter kept me on edge. I’m not going to lie, I started to suspect everyone at some points. Also I didn’t like Bell’s character at first. She was funny but kind of mean too?

I loved her and Carter’s friendships and banter with ash. I have been so invested with them since chapter 1 and I would like to start a petition for holly Jackson to actually write a rom com. Overall I really loved this book but the last few chapters felt really fast paced and some of the things didn’t really make sense to me. (More in my review with spoilers).

Spoilery Review :

I knew it was someone from the family!! How the incidents and its and bit’s was shared in some chapters. How everyone was pointing Charlie. Susan accuses Charlie and how his mother died. How stiff Charlie acted when Rachel reappeared. Rachel locking the door, choosing paella for family dinner even when Bell mentioned Charlie was allergic to shrimps and so many things.

I also suspected him because of the timing when he cut his hands on the day of Rachel’s disappearance.
But for some reason I was suspecting Jeff at first because of how abruptly he left the filming of the first chapter. I also feel bad how he chose Charlie and eventually what it cost him.

“Deal,” he said, speaking to the floor.
“Good.” Bel pushed the door open with her heels, setting Jeff free. She gave him a pointed thumbs-up. “Family first.”
