“Long-time listener, first-time caller,” he says over the line. There’s a reluctant grin in his voice. It twists his words up at the edges, just like his smile. “I was hoping you could give me some advice.” – B.K. Borison, First-Time Caller (Heartstrings, #1) by B.K. Borison

First-Time Caller (Heartstrings, #1) by B.K. Borison | Review Guide

“We’ve been spending more and more of our time together on the phone lines, and Lucie charms every single one of our callers.”
– I love and live for these scenes when the main characters are spending time together and without even knowing they are slowly falling for each other bit by bit. I’ve never read any radio show romance book so it’s a bit different but definitely a very unique and beautiful setting. Them sharing secrets and things they love and hate, making their show fun and engaging while getting to know more about each other and definitely falling for each other is what’s making it more enjoyable to read.

“How tall are you?” asks our current caller, a man with a brusque voice and absolutely zero tact. I wanted to kick him off as soon as he asked her shoe size, but Maggie appeared on the other side of the window with her earbuds in, gesturing wildly to keep it going.”
– Someone’s jelly!?? This is a whole new experience for me to read the jealousy trope but definitely very cute.

“GRAYSON HARRIS: She’s the platonic love of my life. We share a beautiful, devious daughter. I’ve known Lu since we were three years old. She used to bring me cheese sticks at the ritzy preschool we went to together.”
This book is surprising me in so many million ways it’s concerning at this point.

“Now I know what he was doing with his seven minutes. He was collecting every spare blanket and a beach towel—if the blue sea turtles are any indication—to create a makeshift tent.
“Like a picnic,” I breathe. I look up at him and grin. “You remember what I said.”
I knew for a fact we will get this scene eventually after Lucie mentioned what her ideal first date would be. But Aiden lying and still managing to pull it off in 7 minutes? I think Lucie should ask him to marry her right after this.

– Overall I really enjoyed this book. Such a sweet encounter between these two people was that it qualified as a meet cute. Within their relationship I always enjoyed Aiden’s irritable personality combined with Lucie’s compassionate fun personality. They were a great couple. Based on Sleepless in Seattle this romantic story stands as an exceptional recommendation for everyone to read.
