Did I actually only read Spring book in Spring 2024? Well…
“Clover blooms in the fields
Spring breaks loose, the time is near…”
Well the time is ending soon as my spring breaks are over. But I had a really good spring break reading some really good spring themed books even though I’m in a horrible reading slump this year. And I absolutely love reading books matching the weather and season but I’m also a mood reader. So it was hard.
I also had a goal to finish some of the book series that only had the last book in the series to wrap. So I had a good time revisiting my favorite book worlds. That also reminds me why I had a good time reading this spring break!! Because I re read a lot this spring. Mostly because to get out of the reading slump (my only cure to get out of it). So I read a total of almost 14+ books. Most of them were the series the final books are part of. And some spring themed or closer to what I wanted to read and some new releases.
So here are all the books I read this spring with summary and my short reviews (spoiler free) and for a more detailed review and reading activity, checkout my Goodreads @racoffeebooks, here.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson
Image via Goodreads
I started with holly Jackson books as most of her books are fall and spring themed and obviously its officially “A good girl’s guide to murder” season as it comes out on July 1. I finally finished a good girls guide, check the guide if you want, here.
It’s about a teenager Pippa Fitz-Amobi, who has started investigating a closed case for her school project that involves a girl named Andie Bell who was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh 5 years ago, at least that’s what the town, little Kilton and their people believe.
But she has known Sal since she was young and how nice he was with everyone and refused to believe he could kill Andie. So she’s determined to prove his innocence and solve the mystery herself because “The dead can’t defend themselves, but I can.” with the help of Sal’s brother Ravi Singh.
As they begin their investigation they realize how dark and twisted the case is with multiple suspects, while someone from little Kilton is constantly sending threat notes.
A book to TV adaptation is in the works and will be out this year on July 2024. Checkout the guide here for more details – “The Ultimate Guide to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder TV Series 1 : Everything You Need to Know”
The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
Image via Goodreads
I started the reappearance immediately as it was the release week. I absolutely loved it and it’s already on my favorites list this on 2024 favorite book list. The book follows an 18 year old girl, Annabelle Price and her family filming a documentary about her mother Rachel Price who disappeared out of thin air 16 years ago when she was just a baby. But a few weeks into the filming Rachel Price reappears and Bel can’t believe she’s telling the truth. As the filming continues she starts investigating and collecting evidence against her mother with the help of a filming crew Ash. But soon she realizes how twisted everything is as she unravels long buried secrets.

Sable Peak (The Edens, #6) by Devney Perry
Image via Goodreads
After reading the thriller mystery for a while I needed to read something sweet and cozy and sable peak came to rescue. It was a perfect spring book with the perfect spring setting but it also had a mystery subplot. As much as I loved everything about this book from the cover to the epilogue it wasn’t my favorite from the series, like the series was unique in its own way.
The family, small town setting, everyone and their different life and the mystery subplot were everything I loved most about the series. I liked it but I had better expectations with this book as it was the final one in the series. Also a fun fact it was one of my very first reads with the small town trope which is also my favorite. And also in romance mystery books.
All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata

Sable peak oddly reminded me of All Rhodes Lead Here. And I ended up spending hours rereading it. It was refreshing and felt good meeting the characters I kick started a good year of reading with.
This book follows Aurora De La Torre as she moves back to the small town surrounded by mountains, which used to be her home once, to heal and find her old self back as she’s going through a tough time. But as soon as she reaches her rental she realizes there’s some misunderstanding as the actual owner, Tobias Rhodes doesn’t want his place to rent. But after a lot of convincing they set an agreement and Aurora gets to live there. And there’s more to that, Aurora’s journey, development, the found family, banter and the plot twist everything was so perfect. I think it’s time for a reread.
The re reading also made me realize why and how much I love the small town and found family trope. I actually wanted to read it for a while but kept putting it off as I had very little books left off her back list. And I absolutely love her and she should publish more books in the future.
After re reading Rhodes I didn’t feel like reading anything new so I thought of rereading some of my favorites. So I read the brutal birthright series, happy place amd final offer. Sophie larks books mostly feels like fall and spring ish so I had a great time with that and that also reminds me I should start the newest releases of her new series too.
And then I finished my re-reading marathon with the final offer and a happy place because these two together will always remind me of last spring and how much it means to me.
Final Offer by Lauren Asher
Image via Goodreads
Final offer was the 3rd and final book in the dreamland billionaire series. It’s about Cal and Alana who are childhood friends to lovers to strangers and used to spend their summers in the small town, Lake Wisteria but something happens between them and they fall apart.
6 years later Cal is back again in lake wisteria to fulfill his grandfather’s conditions in order to access his funds and according to the will he has to stay at the lake house and sell it by the end of summer but the problem is Alana shares the ownership with him and refuses to sell it.
So, he spends the summer convincing her and there they slowly start working on their second chance too and I loved every second of it. Even though it made me sob, it was the perfect way to wrap the series and say goodbye to my favorite characters.
Happy Place by Emily Henry
Image via Goodreads
It follows ex-fiances Harriet and Wyn who were together for almost a decade and share the same friends group. In order to not ruin their annual weeklong vacation for everyone they have to pretend to be together for a while. This story is written from Harriet’s pov and it’s a dual timeline which keeps jumping from “Happy Place” which are times throughout Harriet’s life with friends and Wyn and all her happy moments to “Real Life” which is the present time where everything is a mess.
It was unique, raw and I felt every single emotion straight through my bones. Harriet and Wyn’s flashbacks, them rebuilding everything they lost, the friend group, the summer memories everything made this book enjoyable enough to finish reading it in one sitting. I’m happy with how it ended but wished some of Harriet’s decisions were different. Read my full review, here.
The Tarkhanov Empire Series by Bree Porter
Image via Goodreads
I took a break from reading because I just couldn’t read something new. But after making the met gala post and researching for the book recs, I found the perfect books. It was in my tbr for more than a year and I think the timing was perfect but I was really sad since there is no update from the author about the books. Read more here.
The Tarkhanov Empire series follows Konstantin Tarkhanov who is hell bent on building an empire of his own after his father and brother failed to do it rightfully. After leaving everything behind in russian he began working his way from scratch in his new territory, new york and along the way he found new people who slowly became his real family.
And he’s ready to do anything for them. In this journey, he also falls in love with the widow of the enemy, Elena Falcone as she catches his attention. The first two books are about them. And the first one ends on a cliffhanger and the 2nd one starts right where the first one ended with a slightly different timeline. There are supposed to be more books out but since there are no official updates from the author we might not be getting them anytime soon. But find more details, here.
Hopeless (Chestnut Springs, #6) by Elsie Silver
Image via Goodreads
Last but not the least the chestnut Spring series. I am definitely not the only one whose first thoughts were: is this a spring romance book series or something? When they first heard about the series name. I can confirm no as I read the first book last summer and I actually think all the books had sprinkle of all the seasons in some way. Another funny thing I also find cute is that the first two books are sisters and their names are summer and winter.
Guess my re-reading marathon was not over yet. Hopeless was the final book in the chestnut Spring series another one of my final books. I read the final book right before the release of Wild love which was the first book in the series. I saved it to read right before the release for a better experience.
I had zero expectations for this series. But the books were very popular and the edits were enough to convince me to binge the first two in 3 days. And I read the next two on the release weeks. But saved the last one for wild love. And as much as I’m sad the series ended, I’m also excited to see them in the future books.
And that’s my rambling and spring book wrap up. As weird as my spring reading was, I had a good time pouring my heart out on this post. Kinda sad spring is over because I don’t really like summer that much. But I absolutely love to read summer themed books and all the brand new books my favorite authors release. I already have a long list of my most anticipated books of 2024 and I’m hoping for a good summer as well as reading.
