About The Syndicater / Summary

This is the sixth and final book of the series that will bring all the characters together one last time as the main plot wraps with the series. The book includes four major sections and the last section can be better considered as the epilogue for each of the pair. The first two, however, were where RuNyx really shone, as she wrote the most intricate, lovely prose into each sentence.

Those sections introduced me to a quite a lot of passion which feels like being swaddled in a blanket of feeling embraced. In these two parts, I seemed to attend the story carefully, and wept at the beauty of the musings and truth and sustenance of the characters.

My Thoughts + Favorite Quotes of The Syndicater (Spoiler Free)

Can’t believe I am actually writing this but I finally read the Syndicater and I have so many mixed emotions right now. I am not fully happy with the whole book because I had very high expectations. And the main reason why I still rated it 4 stars is because I love the characters and the universe. So, this review guide is mostly spoiler free but there will be a spoilery part where I vent about the book and the frequently asked questions part also might contain spoilers. So make sure to check it before continuing to read.

As the thought took root in his mind, rolling around, growing into an ugly, twisted idea.
He greeted them with a smile.
The ennui cracked.
” – I can’t explain why and exactly what I felt when I read this.i was trying to piece things together and connect the dots.

Tristan, as broken and brutal and beautiful as he was, was hers. Their story, while bloodier and messier than any other, was theirs. And just as they had gone through all the tides, they would go through it all together.

– I don’t know what is happening to me or what kind of spell this book had on me. But, I am liking my least favorite characters more in the final book. I love Tristan and Morana. They are just last in ranks. But I am loving every single chapter more and more in this book than the other ones. Also this part made me fall in love with their story more.

All of the characters are equally broken and have traumatic past. But Tristan’s past and his story later in his books and the other ones in the series just keep on getting better. I am not gonna lie. I didn’t enjoy their book like I did the other books in the series but this book makes me want to reread their book all over again.

“Her sister would have wanted her to move on with joy and not live in grief. But that was the thing about grief. It wasn’t really in her control.” – As someone who dealt with grief and loves reading this element in books, it was like a warm hug to me. It’s the beauty of grief that makes the writing more unique and comforting. Since it’s kind of a spoiler I am not mentioning who it’s about but this is something I loved about the character and how they thought. It was so beautifully written but I wish there were more details with grief. But Runyx herself writes a lot about grief in her stories and newsletter so I’ll count that.

“Seeing Morana shot and heal from it had just made him realize even more how important she was to his family.” – The found family trope in this series is something that makes me want to go back to their universe every time. I just love the characters and their bond with each and every other character. As much as I love Tristan and Amara’s friendship, I love Dante and Moranas the same.

How they became friends and slowly without any declaration became siblings. So much love and respect for each other that we think of sharing and asking for advice. Morana calls Dante for situations she can’t say to Tristan. Amara thinks of not keeping anything from Tristan. Everyone leaves their residents to be there for each other, helping in the best ways possible and more. With each and every book they built this relationship and family. And I am so so grateful to get to read something like this.

“If she decoded the lead over the night, the game would change when the sun came up.
The clouds rumbled. A storm was coming.”
– I read this part in one of the teasers shared by Runyx letterbox last year or this year I don’t remember exactly. But as soon as I read this part “when the sun goes down and moon comes up” started playing in my head. I guess that’s the power of books. Specific quotes and scenes remind us or somehow exactly match with specific songs.
