Have you ever rated a book 5 stars right after reading the blurb?? Bc I did today for Enigma RuNyx!! I’ve been meaning to post an updated guide after Gothikana since Runyx sent out many newsletters so here are some updates with details. Enigma, The Syndicator (Dark Verse, #6) by RuNyx, Fire Standalone & more.

Enigma by Runyx is a dark academia romance novel with dark elements which is the main theme of Runyx books. It’s about Salem Salazar and Cazimir van der who are students of Mortimer University. Salem is obsessed with forensics and Cazimir with Arts. They are academic rivals and probably part of the secret society or solve mysteries together.
Runyx first shared about this book in her newsletter, “BOOKS, TRAVEL & AN ESSAY!” on 28 May, 2024. She only revealed it’s a dark academia romance, set in a completely different world. If you read Gothikana and reading the dark academia part made you think if it’s set in the same universe, well me too. But don’t worry the Arkana is set in the same universe, find more updated details down below.
After the newsletter, she shared more on her instagram stories and teasers and finally on June 20,2024 everything about the book was announced. Blurb, release date, pinterest board etc. So here’s everything I managed to gather :
- The main theme of the book will be dark academia romance with suspense and secrets.
- Salem thinks Caz is the murderer but they end up working together.
- The forensics and arts theme will be heavily highlighted in the book and poison will also play a huge part.
- This book will not have any connection to gothikana.

My most anticipated book of the year. After waiting for 1.5years for a bit of an update and memorizing every single teaser on runyx website I can’t explain how to process it. I will finally get to meet my babies this year!!
The Syndicater is the last and final book in the dark verse series. It’s about all the couples in the series as each of them has their own book but this one will bring all the characters together one last time as the main plot wraps with the series. If you haven’t read the series before, you have to read it in order because all the books are about different couples who are somehow related and a side plot continues in each book.
Since almost every detail about this book contains spoilers I’d recommend just start reading this series in order and wait for the book.

Arkana is a prequel book of gothikna. But since it’s not out yet you can read it after Gothikana by Runyx. It’s a gothic dark acadmedia book set in the same universe as Gothikana,in 1872 at the University of Verenmore. It will be about Lenore Emmeranne and Draven Constantine. This book will explore the themes of gloomy, grotesque and gothic with a good twist of Runyx special dark academia with more darker elements.
This book was originally supposed to be out in September and then October 2022. but for some personal reasons she had to push it back and eventually removed the date. So there is no exact date for now. But in a recent newsletter she shared “I’ve commissioned some gorgeous artwork for this book, both safe and spicy, and I can’t wait to share it! Kinetik is a dark biker heist romance which will be about Illyana and Fury. This book will have all the popular tropes that was not seen in Runyx books before, Girl obsessed, Boy obsessed with revenge, both of them are bikers, he’s masked(Never shown his face), adrenaline rides, Long awaited revenge, Rooftop Rendezvous, Unhinged Heist.
The book was supposed to be out last spooky season from September to October 2023 but due to problems with amazon and other stuff runyx decided to not publish it anymore. But in a recent newsletter she shared an update on Kinetik.
“I haven’t shelved it permanently but I’m not working on actively releasing it at the moment and focusing on other books, so one day, fingers crossed.”
These are all the books she talked about in details. But there are 6 more books that Runyx currently working on and the updates are on her website with percentage on how much it’s done.
