Starting with the hunger games… apparently everyone is in their hunger games era…at least me and my friends are. My fyp is full of hunger games edits and I’m definitely loving everything and rewatched all the movies last week, you can check my reviews and rating on my guide here.

Just like Taylor because in her interview with the Rolling Stones (March 29, 2012), she shared that she read the entire series in two days because she had to write song for the movie, which are “Eyes Open” and “Safe and Sound, (Taylor  even played safe and sound as a surprise song at Sao Paulo eras tour 11/25).

-“I thought it would be an action-adventure type of thing, but it’s so much more emotional than that. There’s a huge amount of sadness.”

“I fell in love with the characters, fell in love with the world that Suzanne Collins had created. I was just so immersed in it.”

Also a fan on twitter (@SafeandSound4Taylor) asked Taylor what she would do if she were in the real-life Hunger Games and she replied….

“I’ve thought about this, because reading the books, you’re so sucked into it that as you go about your life, you sit there, and you’re like, ‘Could I climb that tree?’ ‘Could I make a weapon out of this?’ ‘If I had to forage for food, what would I do?’ Honestly, I think I would just be the person who runs and hides,”

2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Taylor recommended reading this book after finishing the hunger games she also added that this book changed the way she looked at life and like every hunger games fan she was sad it was over and praised the writers in her interview with live webcast road.

“There was a book that really changed the way I looked at life and after reading all the hunger games books, I was so sad that they were over and I wanted to read them over and over again. So a lot of books had addictive quality and they know a lot of writers are really good at putting lines at the end of a chapter that make you wanna read the next one and I think that’s something I really admire about writers.”

3. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

Happy birthday to the forgotten or least favorite child evermore, I didn’t because I love you…(just kidding) It’s crazy to think it was out exactly 3 years ago and Taylor wrote a song from this album based on a book.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe – Apple Music, Taylor shared her writing process and inspiration of each songs and she revealed Tolerate it was inspired by the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

“When I was reading ‘Rebecca’ by Daphne du Maurier, I was thinking wow, her husband just tolerates her. She’s doing all these things and she’s trying so hard and she’s trying to impress him and he’s just tolerating her the whole time…there was a part of me that was relating to that because at some point in my life I felt that way so I ended up writing this song Tolerate It which is all about trying to love someone who is ambivalent”

4. Furious Love by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton

Say you’ll see me again Even if it’s just in your wildest dreams…

Well I’m also in my 1989 era bc of the newly released 1989 Taylor’s version. Check out 1989 as book recs here. The song is rumored to be inspired by the biography Furious Love by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton because of the easter eggs and lyrics. In an interview with Pattie Boyd for Harper’s Bazaar she shared that she read the book.

TS: I read a book about Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor recently, and how there was this crazy frenzy surrounding them. In the book, Elizabeth is quoted as saying, “It could be worse, we could be the Beatles.” You are one of the only people who can say they experienced what Beatlemania was like from the inside. How did that feel for you?

5. Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd

Taylor recommended in the same interview Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd when she shared her Instagram post on June 10 with Harper magazine.

“When I finished reading Pattie Boyd’s incredible memoir Wonderful Tonight, I felt inspired and intrigued. I wanted to ask her about her life, sit down and talk about all things 1960’s London, Beatlemania, and how it felt to be on the other side of songwriting: the side of the muse. So that’s what we did, and she is now my forever lady crush.”

I’m going to post a part 2 of Taylor Swift favorite books part.2 so follow me on my socials <3
