Mid Year Book Wrap Up + Book Freakout Tag 2025
Welcome to Racoffee Books Mid Year Book Wrap Up and Book Freakout Tag 2024!!

I thought 2025 will be a great for my reading. Especially when there are so many good books released every month. It was going really well but due to some personal problems and most specifically on this blog I had to pause even if I wanted to read something. I was holding myself back. I had to reduce my reading goal to 50.
Which is usually 100 every year but I might set it to 100 if I can reach my goal of 50 books by the end of summer/ august. But for now, we are half way through the year and somehow managed to squeeze in and forced myself to enjoy some really good books without any guilt and praying for no reading slumps.

So, here is my mid year wrap up and freak out tag 2025!! The original challenge “Mid Year Book Freakout Tag (ORIGINAL CREATOR)” was started by Ely on her youtube channel “Earl Grey Books” and I did my last year tag based on this.
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2025?
– Rewind it back. I know there are still 6 months left and I believe there will be new favorites. But I want to say this one will be my favorite book. I am kinda hoping no other book replaces it. I might be biased and have some specific reasons for this to be my favorite book. Firstly, I loved Rio since the second book and always knew I would eat his book up, which I sure did.
And another main reason being it is the last book in one of my favorite book series. The thought of saying goodbye to these characters for the final time, I savored every single scene of them together. I loved everything about this book and this is definitely the best book I have read so far.
2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2025?
– Wild side by Elsie Silver. Honestly this is my favorite off of the series. I have mixed feelings about this book. I kinda liked the first book in the series but dnfed the second but absolutely loved the third one that came out this spring.
3. New releases you haven’t read yet, but want to?
– Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry. I hate summer and say it all the time in my wrap ups and some of the contents but love reading summer themed books. And my summers are incomplete without Emily Henry books especially when there is a new book release. I also want to read problematic summer romance.

4. Most anticipated release for the 2nd half of the year?
– Sweet Venom. I recently read Beautiful Venom by Rina Kent and I can’t stop thinking about the couple who are getting their book in december. I don’t know how I am supposed to wait till then. But I am very very excited.
5. Biggest surprise ?
– Beautiful Venom by Rina Kent. From falling in love with Rina kent books to slowly not liking the new releases has been difficult. It was even a bit hard, like I had some mixed feelings about whether I am going to enjoy it or whether I should start or put it off. But I am glad I did. And it was surprisingly so good! I enjoyed it as much as I first enjoyed the Rina Kent books.
6. Favorite new author (debut or new to you)?
– Unfortunately, I have no favorite new authors this year yet. I have read some new authors’ books but I don’t really consider them favorites. But I am hoping to find some new authors’ books in the next half of the year.
7. Newest Fictional Crush?
– Well, idk if I can say Rio is not my newest fictional crush. Because I have read about him since 2023 and kinda started liking him from back then. But after reading his book I definitely consider him my new favorite character and obviously newest fictional crush!!.
8. Book that made you cry?
– huh, so where to begin? Sunrise on the reaping – Thinking about the book makes me want to cry all over again. I don’t know how I will watch the movie when it comes out.
9. Books that made you happy?
– First Time Caller, I chose this book because this is my first 5 star book of the year. Perfect theme and aesthetic that matched the spring valentines day week. And mostly made me giggle, cry, feel good and happy.
10. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)?
– I have not bought many books but I am planning to buy some because my birthday is coming soon. But I would say Normal People. I have always wanted to buy the one with Connel and Mariannes face in it. But I could not buy this one I really love. And I am planning to buy some more and gift it to my friends who might like it.
That is all for my Mid Year Book Wrap Up + Book Freakout Tag 2025. I am keeping this short because of the amount of books I have read -_-, I didn’t even added extra questions like last year but I am full for the rest of the year! Happy Reading!! <33
