God of war is the 6th and final book in the legacy of gods series. Which also ends the current Rina verse as all of Rina Kents books are interconnected. The book is about Eli King and Ava Nash King. They were first mentioned in their parents book and more on the legacy of gods series.

The book begin with Ava clearly remembering she was at a party and when she was leaving she saw a car following her and she got to an accident but the next day when she wakes up she discovers she’s in the hospital after something happened that caused two years of memory loss and something worse she’s married with the person she despises the most in the world. As she’s healing and getting better she discovers a newer self and mends her broken heart.

God of War by Rina Kent My Thoughts + Favorite Quotes (Spoiler Free)

When you’ve been obsessed with Fortnite by Taylor Swift for 2 months and finally get a book that’s fortnight coded, which also happens to be your most anticipated book for 2.5years!? I feel like the whole song pretty much sums up the book without giving much. This book is also very The tortured poets coded. Tortured and Broken heart, London setting, excellent fun till you get to know her!?

“Married? Eli and I?
I still find it extremely hard to believe.”

– My reaction when I read the trope reveal. For some reason I thought the book would be set in a college setting. Then as the teaser and tropes were revealed I found it very surprising and disappointing at the same time. And I was hoping even though the book is set 2 years after the other books in their series we’ll get more flashbacks of them being enemies or the scenes from their pov in the other books. But it’s okay. I liked this book anyway. The plotline was well adjusted.

“You still like him?”
“Don’t be daft, Ava. I don’t like him. I love him. He loves me, too, by the way.”
“Does he know that?”
“Deep in his heart, he does.”

– This is sooo he runs because he loves meee coded. And I’m up EVERY SINGLE REMIARI CRUMBSSSS also to sooth my heart because they are not getting a book. But I still have hope they will get their own book. But every single time I read a few words about them I giggled, kicked my feet in the air and sob because how cute and perfect they are!?

After the release of God of Ruin Rina Kent made a post Remi and Ari won’t be getting their books like the rest of the couple who had a possibility of their own book and also added but Remi and Ari will have more scenes and their ending in God of war book but there was anything specific. I know I’m delulu but in a QnA last year Rina shared that there’s a chance she would write a book about them but not in the near future. So I’m hoping she would make a spin off series or a just a standalone with them at least.

“Should’ve thought about that before you married me.”
“A decision I question every day.”

– Me too, I think I’m almost halfway through the book and nothing is making sense yet. But in Rina, I trust. And I’m loving EVERY SINGLE BIT OF ITTT. If the banter and angst I thought was perfect in the other books. Their own book definitely made it more perfect. Even though I love them so much since their parents’ books they were very annoying. And I was hoping they shut the f up sometimes and if they weren’t soulmates and I didn’t like them so much I’d consider them getting a divorce. Which eventually gets half done but like in general.

“Honestly, I stay out of whatever bad blood my papa and my father-in-law have. I’m just glad Mama and my mother-in-law get along. In fact, the three of us and Ari had a spa day yesterday and we spent it pampering ourselves and talking about everything and nothing.”

– I can’t describe how happy and giddy this made me feel. Elsa and Silver went from hating each other the whole Royal Elite Series to becoming good friends in the epilogue to them having shopping and girls days with their daughters to Elsa being Ava’s god mom to mother in law nahh, I still need time to process.

Also, when I read Kimberly and Silver’s book I felt really sad how Kim and Silver fell apart during their teen years because they were besties since they were babies. Even when they started rekindling and became good friends it was not like before. But in this book it felt like they have been stronger than ever and made up for all the lost times. And the reflect their friendship through their daughters. At least Ava and Cecily’s friendship was everything I had hoped for. And know their kids are going to be besties too and this will continue through many generations.

“There’re never enough memories. You’ll all look back at my achievements and thank me for freezing all these moments.”

– I knew I’m going to cry reading the epilogue. No surprise there as I felt a tear sliding down my face. Every time I ended a chapter I was hoping this book wouldn’t end soon or I just didn’t want this book to end at all. I don’t know about the readers who gave this book below 3 or 2 stars or usual Rina Kent readers because I just couldn’t hate this book.

The only reason I gave this book a 5 star is because I’ve waited almost 2.5 years, and fell in love with Eli and Ava when they were kids. Seeing the crumbs of every character from every book in the series made it more enjoyable. That is also another reason why I just liked the book so much the cameos of all my favorite characters. And their chats which I lived for.

All the legacy books are equally overwhelming for the found family and how everyone is there for everyone’s needs. The love and affection is so pure and it just makes me wish this series never ends and I get to read them forever.

Now, Eli and Ava. I know most of the readers might not like them as much as I do. Especially the readers, who anticipatedly waited for this book. As it is also my most anticipated read for 2 years I think I couldn’t not like it. Their relationship was a big surprise to me when the tropes of god of war were revealed. Because I thought Eli will have the boy obsessed, fell first tropes but it is completely opposite. But he definitely made up for it.

Ava was annoying. I’m not gonna lie. But at the same time I really liked her character and her aesthetic. Elder daughter, reader girlie, plays cello, bakes for Eli, have great friends and more.

She is a really great sister but I don’t think there are many scenes of her and Ari doing nothing but fighting. Also, I definitely loved her and Cecily’s friendship. When I read both of their mother’s books it hurt so much how they were childhood besties but fell apart for stupid things. But now they are so close again and their daughters are doing the things they couldn’t. Cecy leaves the states for Ava, and Ava helps Jeremy for their wedding and stuff. These are what made me enjoy it the most.

I think Rina could do better with the last few chapters because I felt like it needed more details. Overall I really liked this book. I might re-read them whenever I’m missing them. Which is now. Because I still can’t process the series has wrapped and so the entire Rinaverse for now. But hopefully we will get to meet them again in future books.

Lastly, rom seeing the main characters being kids to adults, their life, all the struggles and the battles they fought to get their happy ending was so painful. I’m happy the Rinaverse ended and hate that I won’t be able to see them in the next book at least not like this is making me sob all over again. But I’m happy with how each of the books ended. And I’m also really excited to what Rina has stored for us in the future.
