Lets break down why is everyone deeply invested in it… from book nerds to Netflix girlies who just want dramatic chaos in their life, everyone is crashing over this new gothic thirst movie.

But first let’s know what the Frankenstein movie is about ?

Before tiktok edits, the memes, Jacob Elordi’s eight-foot melancholy went viral. Frankenstein was (still it is) most famous novels in English literature. Adapted from Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, Frankenstein is a story about Victor Frankenstein, a scientist driven by an intense curiosity about life and death. Victor’s obsession leads him to create a living being from dead body parts. However, when his experiment succeeds, he is horrified by the monstrous appearance of his creation and flees in terror.

It’s like man creates the fuss and later refuses to face it- narrative is a genre that still famous today. Shelley’s novel literally gives dark, gothic vibes, philosophical, surprisingly softie and way more heart-shattering than people expect. And Del toro – delivers like a big chef kiss.

With already 433 feature film which interprets Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Netflix has picked it up for a new 2025 Frankenstein movie adaptation, backing the film production giving Del Toro complete freedom to actualize his artistic concepts without constraints. The film brings together three talented actors, Victor Frankenstein which is played by Oscar Isaac while the monster emerges as Jacob Elordi and thriller and horror queen Mia Goth completes the cast.

Through an analysis of the creator creation bond the story evaluates how Victor’s collapsed ego impacts his life after creating his monster. The distinct style of director Guillermo Del Toro with his detailed monster creations along with dark fantasy elements will enrich the visual components and thematic aspects of the movie. The upcoming film belongs to the Gothic science fiction horror category.

Lets dive in to the breakdown and why is everyone actually obsessed with the Frankenstein Movie,

The Frankenstein Movie Cast Is Basically Fanfiction Come to Life

Tell me Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who’s only aim to create life- though he abandoned his creation and refuses his interference with nature   Jacob Elordi as the Creature, AKA the grotesque assemblage of body parts that victor bring to life and Mia Goth as Elizabeth  Lavenza, victors love interest . isn’t the most chaotic, iconic, hottest-approved casting ever. This trio could power the fandom multiverse on sheer vibes.

  • Oscar Isaac giving  unhinged Victorian scientist with daddy issues.
  • Jacob Elordi being like 8 feet tall and sad (like all he wanted was a friend)
  • Mia goth = GOTHIC doing her things ate her character as usual.

It’s Gothic Aesthetic Heaven

The Gothic vibe is not always about look, its a whole emotion for us. It builds an artistic ecosystem .The aesthetic has slithered all over the place like you can build a whole library that screams gothic.

Frankenstein 2025 delivers  gloomy hallways, flickering lights , dramatic downpours. Isn’t it the most peak gothic energy ? If you’ve ever: worn a black sleek corset, cried over a classic novel and fantasized  about  run away with a creature …then Frankenstein (2025) is literally your cup of tea or more accurately your cup of hot dark roasted vibes. Every frame is like a blessing  to viewer senses, things you’d see in European museums crafted by dark academia Gen Z with questionable sleep schedules.

The Creature Isn’t Just a Monster — He’s a Whole Mood

We adore misunderstood icon, and the Creature is giving — emotional trauma, existential crisis, I didn’t ask to be born” energy And honestly? Relatable. The fact that Jacob Elordi was replacement is insane because I cannot imagine anyone else playing this role. He brings this heartbreaking, innocence, softness to the creature making him less of a monster more of an abandoned human child.

It’s More Faithful to the Novel Than Most Adaptations

Book lovers are crying, screaming, and sobbing. We finally have a Frankenstein adaptation that respects Shelly’s themes. Del Toro actually keeps the emotional core of Shelly’s writing – the mixed feeling emotions, the moral tensions, the aching emptiness

Instead of turning the creature into a horrendous monster, Del Toro gives him soul, he wanted to add human essence to this creature to make sure we can feel his grief, his emotions,  his yearning, his longing for companionship — all the things shelly wrote in her book.

This entire adaption feels like a love letter to anyone who ever devoured Frankenstein under a dim lamp at 3 a.m. and muttered, why is this emotionally breaking me ? Del Toro understood the assignment — and he delivers a version of the story that hits even harder, in the ethereal , most heart-shattering way.

Frankenstein Movie Fashion & Style: Victorian, But Make It Violently Beautiful

And the oscar goes to kate hawley for best costume designer. Costumes aren’t just pieces of cloth- they’re emotions, psychology , and mood that all stitched together. Victor’s mother’s vibrant shade of red veil dramatically in the wind- that scene  is literally a blessing to eyes, like a painting coming to reality.

Elizabeth’s wedding dress? Aneloquent white gown grotesque yet mesmerizing design, its like straight out of a fairytale. The weight, the color contrast and the detailing portrayed inner character decay beautifully through greens, grays, blood reds color like a gothic painting.

How Frankenstein Movie Took Over the Internet

Frankenstein 2025 isn’t just a movie – its bookish pop culture moment , that makes your feed explode with aesthetic edits, hot takes, emotional breakdowns and jacob elordis transformation magic.

If you’re obsessed with –

  • Classic literature- nod to Shelley’s aesthetic, her life and the romantic era
