The album will be out on October 3rd 2025 at midnight. The announcement was made on podcast on 12th August, 2025 and later and more details were out when the podcast was available everywhere on 13th August, 2025.

The Life of a Showgirl is Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album. Which she announced on 12th August, 2025 at 12:12 at the New Heights Show podcast. Hosted by Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. In a 20 second teaser clip on the podcast socials, Taylor Swift brings out a briefcase with a mint green “T.S” saying “I want to show you something, “This is my brand new album, “The Life of a Showgirl”. And both the kelce brothers burst into excitement representing every single swiftie after the announcement.

As a longtime swiftie everyone probably thought Jack Antanoff and Aaron Dessner will be working on the album But on the same day of the announcement Taylor has announced she will be working with her long time mentor Max Martin and Shellbeck, who she has produced some of her favorite pop songs that are equally popular like songs from the album Red, 1989, and Reputation .
“Max Martin, Shellback, and I have made some of my favorite songs that I’ve ever done before. They’re just geniuses in different avenues, in different ways. We’ve never actually made an album before where it’s just the three of us. There’s no other collaborators. It’s just the three of us making a focused album. It was being made as a part of a discussion with Martin in Stockholm during the Eras Tour in May 2024, where Swift went on to record in Sweden between tour stops in Europe. The album is based on her life and feelings backstage during the tour. Surprisingly, keeping everything purposeful and sophisticated, Swift decided to have twelve songs that correspond to her twelfth album but make no mistake, only quality that is the priority of this album, she has nothing planned as a bonus or surprise song.

The main cover is mint green with a bright orange font. And the promotional pictures are burlesque, showgirl themed combining features, diamonds jewels etc. The makeup is also very exotic and bold. And this will have a theme of the I can do it with a broken heart performance Taylor did on the Eras tour. Personally I think she will use the cages, performing on shows or circus themes from The Tortured Poets Department, Jewels and their references from Reputation and music style combining from 1989, Red, reputation and also midnights.

- Taylor has been hinting about this album for almost 3 years since the midnight era. From her bejeweled and Anti Hero music video to the eras tour. Even she mentioned this in her interview with Jimmy Fallon.
- This Album was also hinted at the end of The Eras Tour Book. In the last page she bid farewell with, “See you next era,” and there were pictures of Orange, Pink and Jeweled suits which describe the themes of the upcoming album. Also this could be a coincidence but on the last page the 12th line was “reclaiming my past made me fall back in love with it”. Which became true as she got her masters back and announced the 12th album.
- The album is coming out in fall and we already know the theme will be orange. And Taylor has been hinting the orange for almost a decade, yes will make a breakdown of it later. But since last year she has been spotted wearing orange and themed clothes with plaid patterns in it. And the album will be out on 10/3 which happens to be national plaid and bf day.
- The album was made during the era’s tour and after the tortured poets department and we have gotten a gist of it in one of the tracks “I can do it with a broken heart”. So we can expect the album to be an extended version of it. And with Sabrina Carpenter being one of the collaborators especially of the title track we can expect some of her signature aesthetic in these records too.

- TS12 might be a double album. Even though she has mentioned it already on the podcast it won’t be a second album. But there are some theories and maybe easter eggs too. The album is orange themed.
