About Wild Side by Elsie Silver/ Summary

Wild side is the 3rd book in the Rose hill series. It follows Tabitha Garrison and Rhys Dupris as they are caught up in a situation where they have to take care of a 3 year old Milo who recently lost his mother. Which happens to be Tabitha’s sister.

As soon Tabitha takes over the role of taking care of Milo, she discovers Rhys is Milo’s official guardian. Furious and confused about why her sister chose a stranger instead of her own sister to give this role, they start coexisting together while navigating the new life.

My Review on Wild Side by Elsie Silver Favorite Quotes (Spoiler Free)

“Pretty amazing, right?”
A subtle nod is all I get. It’s as though he’s entranced. The feeling is mutual, because I see so much of my sister in him. And my heart aches that she won’t be here to see him grow.”

– This book is so sweet and painful at the same time. Tabitha recently lost her sister and before she could grieve properly she had to take over her sister’s role to take care of her little nephew. The only thing her sister Erika left for her. As they spend time together she gets to see her sister in her nephew.

As much as she’s enjoying all the little moments all while grieving she’s regretting that her sister isn’t here for any of it. That’s the art of Grief, it’s beautiful and painful at the same time. And that’s what will keep the person you’re grieving for alive.

“Can we touch on the best way to tell him? I just—” My voice breaks, and it takes me a second to regain my composure.
I swallow.
I blink.
I roll my lips together.
And then I feel a big, warm hand on my knee.

Rhys, you big softie <3. They started off fighting and hating. Every single chapter it seems they can’t stand each other but with a hint that they still care about each other all while being loud that they can’t stand each other at all.

But I’m times like this they are for each other. These scenes was one of the first. And Rhys comforting Tabitha was absolutely soothing. The warm hands definitely felt like a warm hug and a gesture that I’m here for you always.

“Hey, asshole. I made you a bowl of carbonara so that I won’t have to hear your stomach all the way upstairs. I didn’t even poison it. Bon appétit and good night.” The door creaks as she closes it, but then it stops. Light spills down the stairs once again as she adds, “Oh, and I sleep with a gun under my pillow, so don’t try anything weird.”

– I loveee cooking and baking in books. Especially when one of the main characters are chef or cooks for thir people. It’s one of the most beautiful love languages. Even though this scene is in the beginning and in their core enemies to lovers phase it’s absolutely cute and swooning!!.

“Milo stirs, reaching for me in his sleep, and although I had been considering rolling out of bed to make a coffee, his sweetness has now convinced me to stay.
I’m paralyzed by how much I love him. By how much I need him. And by the knowledge that he needs me too.”

– Honestly I don’t think Milo’s character was well portrayed in the beginning. Like he’s a toddler, a little man who lost his mother. But it feels like he was absent. Idk how to explain but all the scenes he is in are so sweet and painful at the same time. Which is one of the reasons why I think he needed more scenes at the beginning.

“Rhys:
You bought me a cat. Romance is dead in this house.
Tabby:
Or maybe you don’t understand my love language?
Rhys:
Is it pettiness?
Tabby:
“Pettiness is my love language.”

– THIS WAS SO FUNNYYY. At first I thought, isn’t he allergic to cats or something? But naur the big bodybuilder softie is scared of cats. And Rhys and all the cat scenes were worth it even if he was. Also getting him a pet reminded me of the wall of Winnipeg and me.

Eventually it hit me that this book has a lot of the things that match with that book. Like marrying for citizenship, cooking and getting a pet as a love language.
