Jenny Han is a girl’s girl through and through. Over the last decade she has blessed us with one of the best rom com books and tv adaptations. And with The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 she has proved to us why women are best. The ultimate summer tv show that has ruled the Genz pop culture for the last 3 years might have ended but its impact will be forever and always. Especially the surprise movie announcement?? It was everything.

What is The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 About :

The summer I turned pretty is based on the 3rd and final book in the summer I turned pretty series by Jenny han, We’ll Always Have Summer. The book and series is set after the events of the first two books.

It follows Belly Conklin, who grew up spending her summers at cousins beach with her brother Steven and the fisher brothers who are her moms best friend’s sons, Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher.

As they grew up together, Belly starts to have feelings for Conrad and eventually she gets caught up in a love triangle with the fisher brothers that continues from the first book to this 3rd one.

All while the love triangle continues, Susannah’s health takes different turns, belly navigates her life and eventually decides what and whom she is going to choose for herself. The series has wrapped following the same ending as the books which was a very hot trending topic of the summer as the author hinted for a possible different ending, and if you have not read the book or watched any previous season it might spoil things for you.

What Happens At The End of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 :

Belly chooses Conrad, duhh. As easy and predictable it was in the final book it was definitely not as easy in the final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Because Miss Jenny Han decided to choose violence and keep the readers and lovers of her books to be in their tiptoes and literally make them unalive themselves in anticipation of whose belly is going to end at the end of the summer, the Team Jeremiah and Team Conrad, a little bonus team benito.

But, All’s well that ends well to end up with our Team Bonrad. Yes, I will be using a lot of Taylor Swift lyrics. Because, honestly? The whole show felt like a Taylor Swift album. It honestly felt like if Taylor Swift ever made a show, it would have been felt like this. And Miss Jenny Han kept the swifties fed from the first episode of season 1 to the very end of the final season with all the Taylor Swift songs and leaving Taylor Swift styles easter eggs.

So, yeah we have Belly and Conrad aka Bonrad as endgame now, celebrating christmas at paris, also returning to cousins beach at some point after bellys birthday. While everyone enjoys Jeremiah’s pop up dinner and the especially the iconic Jeremiah’s Two Tier Mirror Glaze Cake inspired dessert. Also, we have some bonus endgames. Starting with my favorites Steven and Taylor and noww Denise and Jeremiah!! Who would have thought they would be an endgame? But, Jenny Han decided to give everyone a happy ending. And I am very much excited to see them again in the movie. Oh wait, the movie!!!

The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie :

The day before the premiere of the final episode Jenny Han hinted at her Los Angeles Times interview that she might not be done with The Summer I Turned Pretty. “That’s not to say she wouldn’t consider expanding the Cousins Beach universe. Fans are already clamoring for a prequel spin-off…” which almost made people think for a possible season 4 of The Summer I Turned Pretty as Jenny Han also hinted that anything could happen with The Summer I Turned Pretty final trailer.

And, especially after the end credits, with –
“We put our whole heart into this show, and we’re so thankful to you for coming along with us on the ride. Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins. Until then — All of my love always, Jenny.”
But, we did not have to wait for a while because a few hours after the premier Jenny Han shared the movie announcement.

So, What To Expect From The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie :

Jenny Han kept the main ending the same as the book but it was a lot different at the same time. For starters, choosing Paris instead of Spain where Belly went for her study abroad year. But in the show, she went to Paris for the same reason but could not continue her studies as the programe was full and there was a mistake. But she managed to find a way to stay there while making new friends and starting afresh. Where Belly and Conrad also found their way back to each other. 

But, like the books, they did not have their wedding. Yes, they returned to cousins but not as married. No susannahs ring or no mention or any scene of belly reading the Susannah’s letter. But they did celebrate Christmas together in Paris. Maybe they decided to move into Paris as well?. Just like Steven- Taylor and Jeremiah – Denise? As they moved to California from Boston for Steven and Denise’s future project and So, many new beginnings. I hope we get to see everything in the movie. 

I have been seeing some really good predictions and theories too. So, I am going to rewatch the whole show all over again, now that all the episodes are available and I know Bonrad is the endgame.
