Happy international coffee day to everyone who celebrates!! As someone who loves coffee so much that I even named my blog with coffee. Coffee and books are two of my favorite things in the world. Which is why I named this blog “racoffeebooks” a little mix of my name, my favorite drink and my favorite escape..

As much as I love writing about books I realized I have not written enough about coffee. But, that’s about to change because I have been brewing some ideas so keep an eye on my blog and socials for the freshly brewed caffeinated contents soon.

But for now, to celebrate coffee day, I made myself some really good coffee and started a cozy fall romance book and will be doing a re-read from one of the books from my coffee romance book recs. But in honor of coffee day I was reflecting on my while sipping on the coffee. And, the thought of filling my cup came to mind.

I have been seeing this trend on my bookstagram for a few months now. And as I have started writing many lifestyle contents lately and thought, what better way to celebrate coffee day than with a guide to filling your cup?

So, I made this guide on how you can fill your cup in 20 ways. But first, let’s find out what actually means by filling your cup.

What does fill your cup mean?

Fill your cup is a phrase which means self care, recharging your energy and doing things that make you feel good, bring you peace and help you balance your life. For example, you are the cup. When it’s full, you are content and capable of loving and showing support to others. When the cup is empty you feel drained, not in the right headspace to do anything.

Which is why this phrase is sometimes tied with “you can’t pour from an empty cup” meaning you can’t be there for others when you are not taking care of yourself first. As Harry Styles said, “Fill up your own cup, let them fall in love with the overflow…”

Now, slow down and refill your cup with this 20 ways :

Slow morning

Mornings are supposed to be slow and peaceful. If you have school or work, jumping out of bed and rushing into the chaos can be normal for you but not the best choice. So instead, wake up a bit earlier than usual, allow yourself to slow down. Don’t think about checking your phone, let your body and soul wake up gently, do breathing exercise, stretch, drink water and reset your soul and kickstart the day with a slow morning doing all the things that will make you happy and boost energy for the day.

Make your favorite drink

This can be part of your slow morning. Or anytime of the day. But it’s all about enjoying the process. Your favorite drink should make you feel happy and give you some energy. So while making it for yourself, take some time to feel. If you are making coffee or matcha or tea, enjoy the process. Enjoy the aroma, the warmth of the mug and the first sip that hits and fuels your soul.

The moment can give you an instant energy boost. Also while you’re making your favorite drink and pouring it in the cup try to reflect it with your life doing things that can help you fill your cup too.

Get nature time

Fresh air and anything natural is free therapy so make some time to reconnect with nature. In genz terms maybe touch some grass?. If you are inside, crack open windows and doors or maybe sit in the balcony or garden or maybe go on a solo walk. Feel the fresh air and breeze, smell the greens, feel the birds chirping, the crush of leaves, notice the flowers. Let nature recharge you.

Journal

Gathering all your thoughts and let it flow through a pen to paper can be therapeutic and give you some comfort. As journaling is very personal and a safe space. So make time and write down everything you have in your mind. It can be anything: your chaotic thoughts, messy life events or just random things you thought about or did recently. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it’s all about releasing your thoughts in a safe space.

Reading

Sometimes the best way to fill your cup is to.escape into another world. And there is no better way than reading a book to escape reality for a while. So get your favorite drink or snack, wrap yourself in a blanket and curl up with a new book.
