Fall Books I Want to Read This Autumn Season / My Fall TBR 2024
I love fall, and I love fall books more.
Finally adding my priority books that I have been putting off for the last year for this fall tbr 2024.
Happy All to well , gilmore girls, twilight and coziest season to curl up and read books season. Fall is my favorite season. I just count the days when it falls. Autumn leaves falling down, drizzling rain, chilly winds, orangey and warm vibes, slowly wearing cozy clothes and getting ready for winter, ughs I wish it fall all year along. But let’s enjoy it while it’s here.
brat summer is over.

1. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
This book was on my summer tbr and I really want to read it before the year ends. I’m not really sure if this book is set in fall or has the vibes of all but two of the main things in this book reminds me of fall. One the Bright yellow cover and baking.
It’s about Clementine, who’s a book publicist and thriving in her career whole grieving with the recent loss of her beloved aunt Analea. She moves into her aunt’s apartment and finds a charming chef living there and later discovers he has been subletting there for the last 7 years. The book delves into the themes of self-discovery, friendship, and the complexities of grief while exploring the magical realism of the apartment based in New York. It also highlights the healing process and invites reflection on the universal nature of sorrow and personal growth, just what I need for a perfect fall read.
2. Wild Eyes (Rose Hill, #2) by Elsie Silver
I am hoping to revisit the rose hill universe with this book. Wild eyes is the second book in the rose hill series and it’s about West and Skylar. West is Rosie’s brother and Ford’s best friend from book 1 and Skylar is a popular top charting singer who came to this town to start a new journey to self discovery and create her first album that she will own herself.
West has the opposite life, busy raising his kids and living the wild small town life. And their path collides as Skylar has to live in west bunkhouse till her actual residence gets ready. As they spend time together, becoming friends they grow attached. The book cover screams fall and I love everything Elsie Silver writes so I think this would be perfect for fall too.
3. Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan
For some reason I think I might not like wild eyes so I’m also adding this book too. I first read it back in late summer 2023 after making my barbie book recs but couldn’t finish. I loved it but I was reading slump due to academic stuff and just couldn’t finish the book. So after making my Hozier book rec I decided to read it this fall and since I think Wild Eyes is not going to be a 5 star read so I am hoping this will be at least. Because the plot is a lot similar to that.
This book follows Emma Maron and Lucian Osmond. Emma is a popular actress in the hit tv series “Dark Castle” but soon her character gets killed off and she no longer has a job. To share this news and get some comfort she arrives home to find her cheating boyfriend. And she definitely needs a break so she escapes to a gorgeous villa only to find she’s not alone with a similar situation.
Her next door neighbor Lucian, is an ex hockey player who retired right after his injury and is currently living in his grandma’s villa. As they bump into each other they discover more about themselves and they only grow closer—and their broken pieces just might fit together and make them whole. The book has a lot of baking references which is one of my favorite activities for fall so I might read and bake while enjoying this book.
Also If you like the British bake off you’ll definitely love this book just because of that.
4. Love & Hate Series by Ella Maise
Ella Maise is one of my favorite authors because of marriage for one. Which is one of my top favorite books because I’ve read it like a million times. I am not even kidding. And so far all the books I’ve read by her feel very cozy and fall themed. And I’ve been putting off this love and hate duet for the last 2 years. So I think it’s finally time to read it.
The love and hate duet consist of two books. The first one is about Olive Taylor and Jason Thorn and the second one is about Olive’s best friend Lucy Meyer and Adam Connor
- To Love Jason Thorn by Ella Maise
- To Hate Adam Connor by Ella Maise
To Love Jason Thorn by Ella Maise
The first book is about a bestselling romance author and an A list Hollywood star, Olive and Jason who used to be friends when they were younger. While growing up together Olive grew feelings for him and eventually wrote a book where the main character was inspired by him. They lose contact and Fast forward to 10 years both are thriving with successful careers. And fate worked in their favor as Olive’s book which was inspired by Jason was picked out to be a screen adaptation and Jason will be the main character.
This is all the info I have known for the past two years but I think olives and lucy are best friends and there is also the Ella Maise famous marriage of convenience trope because of PR and marketing.
To Hate Adam Connor by Ella Maise
The second book follows olives best friend Lucy who moves in with olive and jason to get her life on track as everything is falling apart. And Adam is their neighbor who’s also an A list hollywood actor like Jason and he recently got divorced. Their meet cute was a rocky start due to a miscommunication. And I need to know what that actually was and read the two books because that’s all the information I know.
5. Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter
Liz and Wes are so back. Never in a million years did I think there would be book two, that too a second chance after a perfect ending of one of my favorite books. But here you go. Wes and Liz were enemies to lovers in the first book and get their perfect happy ending in the book.
But in the newly released sequel book it’s mentioned they broke up due to a tragedy that happened with Wes and he had to end things with liz. And they haven’t seen each other since then for almost 2 years. This book is one of my favorite books of the popular booktok romance books and I’m not gonna lie. I am really scared to read this .But hoping for the best and wishing Lynn Painter writes an epilogue set after 100 years so they can live happily ever after.
If you haven’t read the first book yet, I highly recommend reading that first because it’s set after that book and will make more sense if you have read the first book and avoid all the spoilers.
6. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
With the release of a good girl’s guide tv series on Netflix this year. We can finally claim fall 2024 as a good girl’s guide to murder fall. As far as I remember this book series was very popular –-back in fall 2021 and 2022. So to celebrate or get in the spirit I’m going to read the first two books and finish the series this fall while rewatching the series for the millionth time.
Here is the spoiler free summary of the books –
8. The Lady Janies Series
I really wanted to read more fantasy books this year. Especially this fall, last year I only read thrillers and dark romance during fall season. So I’m aiming for fantasy fall this year. So my lady Jane came to rescue!! I recently watched this series and I’m totally obsessed and mad at the fact that season2 was canceled. LIKE HOW CAN YOU CANCEL SUCH A GOOD SHOW!?
Anyway, I hope the creators and producers change their mind and we get a season 2. By then I’ll just read the rest of the books in this series.
10. The Syndicater (Dark Verse #6) by RuNyx
I don’t think I have anything to say other than screaming on top of my lungs with excitement. Almost all my posts since last September have mentioned the Syndicater or any runyx books.
11. Hollow Boys Series by Monty Jay
I’ve been saving this series to read after the syndicate because I know I’ll be very sad when my favorite universe ends and I will have a hard time to find books that match the vibes of my favorite universe.
12. Devil’s Night Series by Penelope Douglas
The devil’s nights are officially approaching and I think it’s finally time to read this series. I know my whole booktok fyp is going to be flooded with the devils night series edits so I am hoping to finally read it after putting it off for the last 3 years.
The devil night series follows a group of friends just like the royal elite series and the 2nd generation series, legacy of gods.
- Corrupt (Devil’s Night, #1) by Penelope Douglas
- Hideaway (Devil’s Night, #2) by Penelope Douglas
- Kill Switch (Devil’s Night, #3) by Penelope Douglas
- Conclave (Devil’s Night, #3.5) by Penelope Douglas
- Nightfall (Devil’s Night, #4) by Penelope Douglas
- Fire Night (Devil’s Night, #4.5) by Penelope Douglas
- Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas (This book is set in the same world as the devil’s night, and the characters appear in some of the books in the series. It’s a complete standalone so you can read it right after finishing the series or before or just skip it if you don’t want to).
And that’s all for my Fall Tbr 2024. I am really hoping to at least finish half of the books I have mentioned above and reach my goodreads reading goal. And I am wishing every reader the same and a very happy fall!! <333
